Xavier-Köster Workshop

As part of Festival à Pélican in 2017, we worked with the composer on his piece and recorded a reading.

The composer writes: “Is a concert hall a place of discomfort that musicians struggle to tame, or rather a figurative frame that offers our music a safe place to exist? Gelobt sei der Horizont! is a short piece that questions the role and ways in which a musician performs in a concert hall. As you listen, ponder the ways that the music interacts with the hall. Listen to the echoes, and the way that the textures dance among the room, and meditate on how the soul of the room is brought to light.” — Tristan Xavier-Köster
